What a thoughtful gesture! Last Tuesday, Emma brought along a huge chocolate cake – in celebration of her one year with us. Thank you Emma, it was a real pleasure to acknowledge this milestone; we are so fortunate and honoured that you are such a vital a part of Vocally Wild Choir!
Last Wednesday we held our AGM and thank you to those who came along. We have a new Committee now – a “delicious mixture” of new and familiar faces! Here is the outcome of the election process and may I take the opportunity here to thank Edwina and Clint for signing up to belong to this interesting and stimulating committee. Thank you also to Edwina for bringing along the most yummy ‘brownies’ ever tasted!

BAYSIDE CAROLS IN THE PARK
You will be pleased to learn that Bayside Council intends to commence planning for this year’s event at the beginning of July. A meeting took place recently between The Mayor, Cr. Hanna El Mouallem, Cr. Jo Samuel-King, 2 Bayside staff, Russel, John, Pat and Cheryl (Mosaic) this week and the Choirs’ points of view and suggestions, using past knowledge and experience, were passed on. We now trust we can look forward to full production of ‘Carols’ as we have known it in the past, with its huge attendance. Thank you to John Barlow, who wrote an excellent, clear and precise report from Vocally Wild’s point of view. This had been forwarded to the relevant people at Council. John, Russel and Clint will now keep an eye on progress. Minutes of this meeting are available should anyone wish to read them. Contact me
PIANO
Regarding fund-raising for an updated Piano, we are awaiting news as to whether Kerry’s application for a grant (Federal, via Zoe Daniel) has been successful. To date, we have received $1,500 from the Sandringham Community Bank (Bendigo Bank), for which we are very grateful. By the way, if you notice that they have closed their doors in the near future, don’t worry, they will be undergoing renovations for a short time – we have been reliably informed that Sandringham Community Bank is “not going anywhere!!!” Phew!
The wheels under our current
piano had recently given up
the ghost, so Russel and
Allan Lowry went along
to fix some new ones, resulting in a wonderful ‘waltzing’ piano.
However, if you happen to be assisting moving it into position, please take care to ensure the wheels are rolling in the correct direction.
Here are the ‘grease monkeys’ having a wonderful, messy time!

It is always a pleasure to be involved in this special community event.
SONGS
We try to keep the practice pieces up to date on the Website. Emma recently recorded “Keep a Dream in Your Pocket” which is now on the website and “On Broadway” will be uploaded shortly.
