Good Morning Vocally Wilders,
On this chilly morning, hope you are all doing ok, keeping well and busy. Difficult times, but let’s hope we can all think positively - that's the best we can do!
You will have probably received your A.G.M. notice, sent via email, a few minutes ago. Dianne will be our host for this Zoom meeting and here are the details again -
Topic: Vocally Wild AGM. Date: Sep 2, 2020 Time: 07:30 p.m. To join the Zoom Meeting click the link or go to https://us02web.zoom.us/j/87976218616 Meeting ID: 879 7621 8616.
Please let me know if you didn't receive the AGM Notice and I will forward it again. Thank you Dianne for offering to host this meeting - let's hope as many of you as possible will be able to attend. Any nominations for a position on the Committee to be forwarded please to Russel (email above) with details of nominee, yourself as nominator and the name of a seconder by Wednesday, 26th August. Thank you.
KATRINA
Katrina sent the email below to Russel and Diana and we are now forwarding it to you, should you be interested in taking part.
I am hoping this email finds you both well during this tricky time in Melbourne. I have been making a couple of resources to aid my choir members to sing at home.
Essentially I aim to teach an entire SATB arrangement of a song in a 30 minute video which includes a warm-up, a tutorial for the parts and a multi-tracked video of the song conducted and sung by me and special guests (so far, my husband Tom and Andrew Price from the Kingston Sea Shanties). The music is also sent as a PDF with the video link.
Cheryl has suggested that this might be a way to teach choral arrangements for the Christmas Concert and I am certainly open to the idea if we are to be involved.
For now I thought I would send you both through the YouTube links to the SATB versions of the two songs I have taught and if you thought members of Vocally Wild might be interested in the videos please feel free to direct them to the courses page on my website: https://katrinawaters-soprano.com/courses/
The videos are not perfect, especially when the Bass in Down to the River (my husband Tom) persisted in singing the wrong words, as we all do from time to time. However, I hope the videos inspire community choristers to put on a pair of headphones and sing like no one is listening!
Best wishes, Katrina katrinawaterssoprano@gmail.com

WHAT HAVE YOU BEEN DOING, OR WHAT ARE YOU PLANNING?
Sylvia (2nd Sops) had a great idea - she thought it might be interesting and fun if we shared our ;'lock-down' activities! There must be a myriad of ideas and activities out there! What's the worst thing you've done during the lock down? Sylvia has been exploring her painting - doing tutorials, trying different skills using loads of colours. (I know there are several other 'artists' in our midst - send me some photos if you want to share your creations). Sylvia has also been clearing cupboards in the garage - delving into materials from 20 years ago, half finished paintings and projects, organising Christmas decorations, lovingly sorting tubs of photos and making them into photoboards, enjoying the great memories. Phew - am exhausted thinking of it all! The worst thing I have done so far is to half-heartedly clean the oven! The best is starting to learn to play the pian0 from scratch! Patrice, there is definitely no threat to your job!!!
Let me know - I am sure people would love to hear what you're doing.or what you promise yourself you'll do!
