What a great concert! It was a pleasure to be in the audience to see and listen to your wonderful sound. You really nailed ‘Skyfall’!! Thank you to everyone concerned: Diana and Patrice of course, the tireless Committee, Dave our wonder-man and his team, all the generous helpers and everyone who brought the delicious refreshments. Thank you also to the full-house audience who braved the chilly winter’s night to be there.
As we did on the night, we also wish to mention here Sue Beazley’s incredible commitment to the choir. Sue has been a member since pretty much the very beginning – the days of The Cantata’s and Broken Voices. She now has 20 years under her belt and has been the ‘engine room’ of this choir since the beginning! Sue has been totally committed to Vocally Wild, from when she was our link with Sandybeach, during the changeover from being under Sandbeach’s wings, to becoming a fully independent choir. Sue is truly a walking encyclopaedia on all things ‘choir’ and has always been an enthusiastic, loyal and unwaivering embassador for us. It would take too long to describe all of her endeavours, but her efforts over the years are well and truly appreciated by us all. She is having a break from the Committee now, but is still an active Section Leader for the Sop 1’s, keeping us all informed and up to date with our songs and words! Thank you Sue.

MESSAGE FROM SUE
My thanks to the committee and all the choir for the acknowledgement of my 20 years on Friday night and the kind words, you caught me by surprise. Thank you also for the generous gift, which given my love of theatre will be put to good use very soon. The certificate is already up on my office wall to remind me how lucky I was to join The Cantartas all those years ago. The joy of singing, so many amazing performances, challenges and so much fun along the way. I have met so many beautiful people over the years and made so many friends. Vocally Wild has been such an important part of my life and anything I have done for our wonderful choir has been given back to me in spades. Fabulous concert, think the best performance we have done, so thank you Diana for making sure we were so well-prepared. Alan said the harmonies were amazing and the light and shade took us to a new level.

LAST CHOIR NIGHT, TERM 2 ON TUESDAY
Our Term 2 break up is next Tuesday, 25th June, and Dianne has organised another fun 'Open Mic' session to take place during our 9.00 to 9.30 p.m. refreshments. Four 'acts' are already on the 'bill' and there are a couple of spots left, if you feel like giving it a go. As this is a light-hearted occasion, there is no need for perfection but Dianne would be only too happy to give you a hand if you feel you need it - 0410 583 496. Diana will be arriving at 8.00 p.m., so Patrice will help us with a 'warm up' singalong. If you can find the words of 'Getting to Know You' and 'Oh! What a Beautiful Morning' on your phones, that would be perfect. Please also bring your music for "It's a Wonderful World'.

Cherry will be forwarding Invoices for Terms 3/4 next week, probably by Thursday. If you will not be returning to Choir for Term 3, please advise Cherry before next Wednesday. If you are taking leave of absence during any term, but you decide to return for a week or two using our 'Casual' arrangement, the Committee would be grateful if payment could be made promptly. Boosting numbers in Winter
Vocally Wild is sounding terrific. We heard many compliments after the concert on our blending and harmonies. We need sufficient numbers to achieve the sound Diana is training us for, and you will have noticed how attendance on Tuesday nights falls off during the cold winter months. Some weeks we see less than 60 and the hall feels a bit empty. So we have decided to invite a further 10 people to join from the waiting list, so the numbers don't get too low on any rehearsal night. There will be some nights when we have close to a full hall, especially in summer, but Diana is very comfortable with this.
You may be wondering if this will affect your chances of performing on stage at the Bayside Carols. Members are chosen to perform based on the length of time in the choir, so new members will have no effect.

ROSTERS
Dianne is collating a monthly 'Lock-up' Roster of people willing to assist Committee members in locking up after Tuesday rehearsals. Not an arduous task, but important. Please could you contact Dianne if you are able to help. Usually the roster is for a month, so we need people for July to September and November/December. Thank you.

WILLIAM
We're fortunate that William Mulholland has chosen to be part of Vocally Wild - he certainly adds to the colour and energy of our group and how we love that voice! Keep watching those James Bond films too! Here's a brief paragraph on what he's been up to:
William is a graduate of the Victorian College of the Arts (School of Dance) and works as a commercial lawyer by day and moonlights as a professional Master of Ceremonies. He has performed extensively in music theatre including the 1988 professional production of Cats at Her Majesty’s Theatre as well as appearances with the Canberra Dance Ensemble, Victorian State Opera and Australian Ballet. He has performed with Encore Theatre Inc in Life After George and Daylight Saving and Brighton Theatre Company in Calendar Girls and their most recent 2019 production of I Hate Hamlet, as well as Malvern Theatre Company’s productions of Julius Caesar, Nuts, and Key for Two. His other credits include Godspell, Annie, JC Superstar, Half a Sixpence and Oh What a Lovely War in Canberra as well as Barnum, A Chorus Line and The Scarlet Pimpernel for CLOC and MLOC’s Irene. He was previously a member of Melbourne Sings (choir) as part of the With One Voice choir program for nearly 3 years under the direction of Shaun Islip and Tania de Jong with appearances at the Melbourne Town Hall and Melbourne Recital Centre. William is thrilled to have joined Vocally Wild as the next step in his singing pursuits and has secret ambitions of one day being in a James Bond film.
