Hello everyone!
This is a 'keeping in touch' newsletter - sorry but that's all we can do at the moment. News doesn't look too good for choirs in Victoria, alhough the general direction regarding vaccination levels is moving upwards week by week.. Apparently South Australia doesn't permit choirs to sing indoors yet, without a mask, so we still have a little way to go! Our newly acquired piano is sitting there waiting patiently for Patrice to come along and give it some of her brilliant attention!
Sadly, at the end of August, Bob Adams, a kind, friendly, lovely man, and enthusiastic Broken Voices and Vocally Wild member some years ago, passed away after being unwell for a little while. Bob was an original chorister with our choirs and so loved singing; he had a beautiful voice. He actually went on to sing with one of the Melbourne classical choirs and in the early days, when V.W. numbers weren't so large, returned to join us for Carols in the Park on some occasions. A message of condolence was sent to Wendy and family from us all.
It was disappointing that we couldn't take part in Connor's Run this year - it being cancelled, as we had expected. However, it should be all systems go for a bigger and better occasion in 2022.
Did any of you see the recent Bayside Council video about the Thomas Street Park, Hampton? Our very own John Barlow had a starring role - great John! What a wonderful asset to the community this park is (and you too of course, John) - there's something for everyone there!
Message from Cherry
Dear Members,
It's so disappointing that we can't sing our cares away at present. Fingers crossed we'll be back together again this year. Please be assured that the time we've missed will be reflected in our fees going forward. In the meantime, do think of choir and have a bit of a sing to our practice songs. If you can't access our website for any reason, please don't hesitate to contact me and I'll reset your Login.
Warmest,
Cherry (Membership Secretary)

Message from Bill and Patrice
Bill and Patrice send their very good wishes, they are thinking of you all and looking forward to returning when possible. They both say "Stay safe and well."
As spring has arrived, with 'sun and
shower and blossom', let's hope
you are all feeling positive and looking forward to better things.
Here's a touch of Leunig to add to our spring feelings!
Do keep in touch, hang in there, and enjoy
all the beautiful music around us.
For example, Marg Brown sent me a
wonderful video of Handel's Hallelujah Choris with a difference. I'm unable to add it to this Newsletter, but for your enjoyment will send it as an attachment in an email shortly.
Good thoughts to you all and if you would like to share any news in a newsletter, do let one of us know..
Pat and the Committee.
