Hello Vocally Wilders,
Hope you are all coping with what has been thrown at us and, where possible remaining cheerful and positive!! I know several of you have had some concerns, so thoughts are with you. The Committee won't be meeting this month, little need at present, but we plan to Zoom together in August and hopefully there will be some brighter news by then. In the meantime, here is a message and 'pep up' from Diana, a communication from Toni Evans and Carolyn McIntyre, plus some music videos from Ken Walker and Maggie Cripps, (thank you Russel for the technical assistance!!) plus an indulgence from me!
FROM DIANA
Here's a clip I created while lucky enough to have a break in lovely serene South Gippsland last month.
Aum Shanti - (Peace Chant) sung on a mountain in Foster North overlooking farmland and Wilson's Prom in the distance - this clip is all about the view!!
Left of screen is melody/low part, right bottom is middle voice, right top is high - try out all the parts - and see which one your voice feels sweetest in. Try jumping up or down an octave - play around with singing it when you want some peaceful respite! <3 Diana

I'd love to see a photo of Judy for her 90th celebrations too if we have one to share - congrats Judy!!!
Thank you so much Diana.
MESSAGES FROM OUR CHOIR FRIENDS
Tony: I hope that you are all well and safe, and hunkered down in your lovely warm homes. I hope I'm not imposing, but I would love to send a "hello" from me to all our Choir members. I miss them all, as you would too. Choir was/is such an important part of our lives and I don't know when I'll see all those lovely smiling faces again. Sigh !!
Carolyn: I miss you all, the singing and the camaraderie.
Maggie: Maggie says you'll enjoy this 'Opera' and to watch to the end! Opera with an unusual ending
Ken: For great music, Ken suggests you go to Google and enter ‘Wiener Cello Ensemble spiel Bolero’. He sends a message with it - Always loved the repetitive nature of Bolero....and the comedy routines around the piece. .. a compelling melody to listen to!
Another from Ken - see attachment "The Good, The Bad, The Ugly' . The Good, Bad and Ugly
Thanks Toni, Carolyn, Ken and Maggie. If any one of you would like to send a general message to Choir, or if you have any items of interest, for example what you've been up to in 'lockdown', I'm sure many would LOVE to hear from you, so please let me know. (patlow5@bigpond.com)
MARSKE FISHERMEN'S CHOIR
For any of you interested in seeing a wonderful men's choir, attached is a short clip of the Marske Fishermen's Choir (Marske by the Sea, North Yorkshire, near the North York Moors)! They have been singing all over the UK, for charity, since the late 60's. This clip is of a small group of them performing a sea shanty amongst the ancient ruins of Whitby Abbey, on a very misty, moisty atmospheric morning! The video is from my phone and I am sorry that I didn't get the full song, but you can look them up via Mr. Google! In this clip they're singing about the "black gold (oil) in the dark sea waters Johnny".
Marske Fishermens choir
Leunig as usual hit the nail on its head a couple of days ago - which one will you wear - now they are compulsory!?
Take care, more soon. Pat.
